Segmented Bowls
The construction of segmented bowls begins with designing the shape, size, wood patterns, and wood species. This requires much math and geometry. Often you want to feature the natural wood grains in a particular manner which you should consider while designing. You must also consider your lumber for minimal waste.

Construction begins by precisely cutting each segment at specific lengths and angles. Gluing all the segments forms a rough shape of a bowl which is then turned on wood lathe. The finish is achieved by several coats of poly and finish sanding/buffing.
Furniture
The furniture in the gallery above is made of Tiger wood(South American hardwood) and a rosewood stained Pacific Northwest maple.
